Media Adapting

Cover Letter

ASHLEY JAY COTTON

Dear Sir/ Madam,

I am writing to you in regards to an entry level or internship position as a foot in the door to the graphic design and media arts industry.

After completing previous degrees in Creative & Expressive Therapies and a Fine Arts Foundation in my home country of England, I found myself uninspired in Therapy and hungry to be directly involved in my passion and interest in media arts and animation.  This realization has inspired me to return to academia to gain an education in my desired field.  Therefore, I am currently studying Media Arts & Animation at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division.

Whilst gaining experience in media arts and improving my art skills and techniques, I am currently working in the South Burlington School district whilst I develop my portfolio through freelance design, video production and various media art classes.  I believe I have the maturity and passion to be an asset in a creative company whilst developing my skills.

To tell you a bit more about myself: I am a highly motivated person and have found I’m very adaptable in new environments.  I enjoy meeting new people and collaborating with others.  I am both Mac and PC proficient and enjoy working in a creative, fast paced environment.  My interest thus far has been character design and storyboarding but I’m also very interested in learning all aspects of the media arts industry including graphic design and marketing.

Thank you for your time and I appreciate your consideration in being a part of your team as well as assisting in my professional development.

Kind regards,

Mr. Ash. J. Cotton
